Soooo....Am I The Only One Not In The Loop?!!

I felt like such a 'doh doh' the other day when I popped over to one of the blogs (Savvy Spice) and saw a post she was doing on her 'Missoni Clutch Giveaway'. She was talking all about the Missoni designer deals madness that was sweeping over 'Target' store shoppers nationwide the other day!...Huh?! O_0...At Target?...Madness?...And what or who is Missoni?!
As you can clearly see, I was not in the loop on this one! I had to catch up...and quick!...So now I know that Missoni is a high-end Italian designer, and his new line has just come out. But as to the loop?...The 'loop' still has totally left me in the dark!...And talk about the dark?!! Look at what the Missoni design is!!!
It's zig zag stripes!...a chevron pattern!!...I am flabbergasted!...Really?!...When Missoni's new line hit the stores it created so much online traffic that Target's website crashed!! And apparently thousands of women who had waited in line for hours before Target's doors opened for their zig zag designed merchandise, left stressed, empty-handed and disappointed!
Am I the only one not in the loop on this?!! I mean...when did zig zag stripes come back in style?!! O_0 And when it did...why didn't anybody tell me?!! I've got zig zag scarves and blankets and all kinds of stuff that I've crocheted just sitting in my house!!!
In fact, I've got a blanket that looks almost exactly like this Zig Zag Child's Throw by fleapuckett!
       Thus, the feeling like a 'doh doh'!! I purposely haven't been listing them because..."Really...who wants my old RETRO stuff?"....Yeah! I'm calling it retro...in a bad way...while Missoni is out here 'Racking Up' and dragging in the 'dough'!!! LOL {Sorry about all the slang talk. The zig zags are going to my head!! ^_^}
I decided to see if it was just a 'fluke'...there I go again with the slang! LOL...So I put the search term 'Zig Zag' in over on Etsy.......and Whoa!!!! Apparently I 'am' the only one not in the loop!!! O_O I found all kinds of zig zag/chevron patterned items!!

So...it's official. I'm old...I'm not 'up to date' with what's going on...and I'm 'loop'-less!! LOL Here I was, for the last week or so, getting all excited about blocks!! In fact, I have two scarves going right now...
...one with four blocks in the colors of green, white, gray and purple. (above)...And one in the colors of burnt brown, red, white and brown. (below)
*Shaking my head*....Well, I'm not gonna be the only one out of the loop! ^_^ I'm giving away one of these 'block' scarves to one of you followers!! ^_^ That's gonna be the Giveaway for October 1, 2011. (See the right hand sidebar link for the details)
When you put your comment on the blog about the Giveaway you have to also leave the choice of color of scarf you want...'bright' or 'pastel'...And don't try to leave me with both of them either!!! Come on!...Enter the Giveaway!! ^_^
Priscila of Priscila Peters Decor entered the Giveaway last time and....guess what?! She won!!! ^_^
Congratulations Priscila!! Just leave me your info on my email HERE and the necklace will be coming your way!!
So, if you want to get your hands on this Missoni Zig Zag Clutch, you better get on over to her blog, follow the rules, and enter HERE before October 4, 2011...before I beat you to it I mean!!  ^_^ {What?!...Don't I deserve to get back in the loop! ^_^}...That's when her giveaway ends.
Okay...Now I have 3 problems to deal with this morning...It's raining...A-G-A-I-N!!!...I've only got one brain!...And I'm all zig zagged out!!!...^_^ And only one of these is going to be addressed for a solution today. You guess which one! Ha! Ha!
But I am curious. Did you all know about Missoni?! Or that zig zags were in again?!

I only have one brain

There've been times when I felt that I needed
an extra brain to remember some stuff.
An extra noggin to handle the chaos,
when my life and my schedule got tough.

A much bigger cranium for non-essentials;
Somewhere to go when my brain wants to bail.
An extra universe inside my skull space,
where I could place all my 'Mental Junk Mail'.

But, knowing my thinking, there's no use
having two places for my mind to stretch.
Two places to toss around ideas.
Just more balls of ideas I can't catch!

My one brain is an occupied scramble.
A pink-celled, forgetful and frustrated mess!
Do I need another brain somewhere,
holding problems that I must address?

No, I have enough things to focus on.
Things so confusing and numerous to do.
So it's a good thing I only have one brain!
What in the world would I ever do with two!

I always know how to make myself feel a little better about being in the dark though. :-)...Whenever I feel like I'm 'Rolling in the deep'!...Have a good day everybody...and enjoy!

  1. Good morning my friend! I wasn't aware of all the madness either. I heard snippets of what was going on, but had no idea what it was. As to zigzag, I looked that up not too long ago and did a treasury on some of my findings. You're right, there are just so many wonderful zigzag/chevron items on there that it's hard to pick a favorite!!

As to the scarf....I love the first one!! The purples and grays are so pretty!! Enter me, please!
    Have a great day!!

  2. CinLynn, Well, I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one out of the loop! :-)) But now zig zags is all I can think about! (Too much etsy searching I think. ^_^) And I'm glad you still like blocks too. You're entered for the 'Pastels'! Have a good last day off with hubby!!...I'm planning a looooooooooooong trip tomorrow with mine! :-)

  3. Deb, zig zag? What? Where? Who? No Deb you are not the only one out of the loop. Had no idea that zig zags are in. Thank you for sharing this with us. I'm sorry but that is to much zig zag and reminds me of the 70's which I wasn't excited about the 70's fashion then so not even now.....LOL...Nice poem by the way. Have a great day!!!!

  4. SnowflakeDreams1, Yep! Zig zag!!....I KNOW!!! When did this happen?! I spend a whole lot of time avoiding zig zag crochet patterns! ^_^ Now I may have to re-think it. I 'do' like the scarf with the zig zags just on the ends. That's pretty cool. And it doesn't feel as 70s as if it was all zig zags!...Thank you so much for the nice words about the poem too! Have a good day Velma!

  6. I just posted about the same thing today. I was sorting my yarn last night and this came on the Local News. Hello... the Chevron and other patterns have been around since the beginning of time.

    Congrats to the winner, too.

  9. Haha, your post totally made me giggle ( AND THANK you so much for mentioning my clutch giveaway. That's so sweet) I'm going to Tweet about your's today! So, I DO need to admit I didn't know what Missoni designs looked like a few months ago, I just started seeing it in the mags recently. :) I think your blanket has a better color scheme than Missoni, it's cuter than the Target designs but without the designer name. hehe. Thanks so much again and definitely entering your giveaway :) xoDale
